Our only opportunity since early December to do some more of this – the most time consuming part is finding the ice with natural holes in and then extricating it from the puddle without it breaking! The placing in the tree and taking photos is a joy if not fraught with the potential for disaster (we have lost quite a few – ice sheets I hasten to add, not children or dogs! )

It was a sunnier day this time so the blues and greens seen through the ice were particularly beautiful and I did notice when going through the photos that one of the branches we hung a sheet of ice on looked remarkably like a dogs head, or is it just me?
As I write this post I can see the first snowflakes of the winter just starting to fall – we have an amber warning for heavy snow tonight so hopefully we’ll be able to make our snowbird tomorrow.

Lovely work again Sian – that 4th picture has a beetle’ish quality in keeping with your theme:)
No snow here, or even ice although the last few days have been pleasantly dry and sunny. Today we’re back to drizzle.

Thanks Bob : ) you’re right, no. 4 does have quite a beetle’ish look about it! At least you’ve not got rain and your lovely plants don’t need any snow this year!!!!

Oh I love how you can see other images within them. The first one, I imagined had a Borg hovering above it, that you captured. Beautiful!

Why is it I keep wanting to say “Magic” with every photo you post? I must find a new word, or I’ll bore you to death.
I truly thought that was a dog’s head! The second one looks to me like a gorgeous bottle.
