Oh my goodness..yes it is a fresh start. Is that not an oak? If so, they are one of my favorite trees..so stubborn to let go in the Autumn and so beautiful and strong. And the galls..how I love them too. Years ago I made a necklace for me and a beloved teaching friend. I strung those galls in graduated sizes and we wore them with delight.
