A loveliness of ladybirds – if you google what a group of ladybirds is called that’s what you get. It’s not officially recognised but it sounds better than a hoard or cluster. It looks like we’ll have a bumper year, watch out aphids!

I’ve always been fascinated by insects and have used them (especially beetles) as some of the inspiration in my ceramic work and photography. At the moment I’m not able to do much in the way of pottery for numerous reasons, not least of which is the subject of my other blog (Banana=Egg) and also the garage being given over to woodworking. So….. maybe some carving might be the answer, I have the fancy tools, some wood, some designs, now just need the time.

Difficult to find an answer to what a group of ladybirds and spiders should be called though!
